They’ll do it themselves within a few years (1.0) All I have to do (1.0) is wait (3.0)' to which he follows with a 'check mate' move seems to suggest he has the upper hand. However Sherlock regains the power soon after. In 'The Reichenbach Fall', Sherlock understands the 'Richard Brooke' which seems to suggest that although Moriarty thought he had the upper hand, Sherlock actually understands. Also, when Sherlock works out that he is supposed to kill himself, he seems to have worked out Moriarty's plan. It then shifts back again to Moriarty holding power.

You can do anything you like with me but nothing is going to prevent them from pulling the trigger (.) Your only three friends in the world will die (.) Unless' and then Sherlock states this, making him more in power and a threat to Moriarty and his plan, 'SH: Yes (.) But I’m not my brother remember (1.0) I am you (.) prepared to do anything (1.0) prepared to burn (1.0) prepared to do what ordinary people won’t do (1.0) You want me to shake hands with you in hell I shall not disappoint you.'
Both transcripts appear to have power shifts as it is almost that the characters are fighting for power but it different ways. Whereas in 'A Game of Shadows' the power seems to continually shifts...
