Sherlock Introduction

The language investigation blog offers the candidates access to the transcribed material for assessment and presents the oppotunity for group interaction. As a researcher, the blog gives me the oppotunity to pose questions with a clear focus in order to gather concise and accurate data which can be easily collated.

Both transcripts are between Sherlock Holmes and Jim Moriarty and are taken from different adaptations of the original Arthur Conan Doyle narrative; 'The Final Problem'. The aim of the investigation is to explore the power relationship between the two characters and whether this alters based on the contemporary or classic adaptation and the target audience.

Please answer all questions accurately and honestly.

The transcript 'The Reinchenbach Fall' is taken from the 2012 BBC series originally aired on BBC1, January 15th at 9pm.
The transcript 'A Game of Shadows' is taken from the 2011 classic adaptation cinematic production, released 16th December, rated 12A.
